About the Authors

Miguel Alvarez, Ph.D.

Dr. Alvarez has worked with children and families of divorce for the past 18 years.  Dr. Alvarez performs child custody evaluations, mediation, child counseling services and adult counseling services for both English and Spanish dominant families.  He is a member of the Collaborative Family Law Group of San Diego and attorneys frequently refer their clients to him so that he can prepare them for Family Court Services, child custody evaluation and child custody mediation.

Lori Love, Ph.D.

Dr. Love has been specializing in working with children and families of divorce for the past 18 years. She routinely performs child custody evaluations, child custody mediation, and special master assignments. She is on the Advisory Board of Kid’s Turn. She is one of three people spearheading the High Conflict Case Management program in San Diego County. She has been trained in San Diego’s “New Ways for Families” program. She is a member of the Collaborative Family Law Group of San Diego. In addition, Dr. Love is well known for her presentations that always combine humor, high energy and education.
